here i am, awake at 2 am and choking on sadness.

reading: a book about urn problems, the most comforting thing.
listening to: random youtube videos of performances by johnny costa. my son jams along on his blocks pretending they are drums.
working on: boxing up things to donate. how did all this crap even get into my house in the first place.
in the garden: the brown-burgandy leaves of the hydrangea are rimed with frost.
