unfolding as it should
beside the pasture, there was a swaying clump of daisies. i remembered picking my way through a field of similar flowers toward the end of a hot day, nearly ten years ago. i had been welcoming the cool slant of shadows, and then i realized i was racing nightfall to the trailhead. suddenly, with my whole body, i remembered the body i used to have.
* * * reading: tables of data. listening to: young magic - slip time. working on: dissertation writing. in the garden: the Kniphofia buchananii are drawing humming birds. this graceful little poker lily is my particular favorite.
