racing downhill into the new year

my father in law showed up for coffee and dessert, after thanksgiving dinner. he was well groomed and neatly dressed. my husband has power of attorney and controls his cash flow. everything for the best.

for the moment, we are living life by sundial rules. tempus fugit, count only sunny hours. in the new year, it will be time to regroup and reassess.

reading: through the bookshelf. i am selling all the books i don't want to re-read. i started this project in reverse alphabetical order by author's surname, but now i am jumping around, hopscotch through nigerian literature.
listening to: 90s music, mostly. a treasure hunt for all these little lost bands.
working on: making my house better, mostly. hate this place.
in the garden: the ground is frozen hard, and i am still catching up on pruning, editing the branches and standing stalks in anticipation of snow.
