3. an exasperated chickadee
4. mustard and cumin seeds dancing in hot oil
5. freight trains passing through the station at night
6. the grandfather clock that strikes the hour.

listening to: a celtic harp demo by the sister of a friend of a friend. not bad at all.
working on: washing up the dishes from dinner.
in the garden: i moved the jugs of winter sown strawberry seeds to the coldest microclimate in our yard, so their tender shoots are not misled into a false spring.
