cold air and blue sky
[my parent's house]
i took the dog for an early walk this morning. overnight, frost had bloomed in the cold still air. all the fallen maple leaves were edged with tiny icy knives.
what a peculiar autumn it has been. so many leaves turned brown and fell without ever blazing into color.
with silver trunks and fluttering golden leaves, the beech forest speaks of the changing season. the wintergreen wind is in the trees and the birds are flying - this is lovely wild weather.
