more definitive than any autumn

there's a branch down in the backyard. it's a very large branch, actually - one might mistake it for an entirely independent tree. it can't remain where it is, so i cut a large leafy stick, drag it back to the brush heap, and repeat this process all afternoon.

i'll do the same thing again today. then i'll buy a chainsaw.

you could read into this if you liked, burrowing like a ribbon of rot into heartwood.

* * *

reading: nothing. i know, can you believe it?
listening to: true deceiver - neutron star.
working on: shaping the world to my own ends.
in the garden: just one more bed to create, this season.
