sometimes i think that talking to you is exactly as productive as having an argument with an imaginary ludwig wittgenstein.

reading: shop class as soulcraft. it was recommended to me, and based on the recommendation, i was thinking of buying it as a gift for my mom. but it's got this men-should-be-real-men anxiety meshed into the text, and i just can't get past the way in which problematized spaces are presented as feminine or feminizing. it's close to the idea that girls can do boy stuff, and that's great! but boys shouldn't do girl stuff, because girl stuff is boring and lame.
