the foundation pit
i have a photo of my mom on her cell phone, making her way through the phone tree of some social service agency. behind her, there is a statue of a capering clown, old people's lace curtains, a cold light through the window. i was trying to photograph my grandfather's last birthday, but all the pictures are really fucking bleak. god, it's just really fucking bleak here right now.
