it was just so crowded and so hot

this morning, i fainted on the train. i had always thought, if one passed out in a crowded subway car, one would remain standing, wedged in place by the mass of bodies all around. but i found myself sprawled on the sticky, lurching floor, my hair clip lost, surrounded by a forest of legs.
