i skinned my hips wriggling under the fence, and it was a miracle the security guards didn't toss me back out on my ear. but none of them were looking in the right direction at the moment. so i smoothed my skirt down, tucked my hair behind my ears and took my place among the patrons strolling around the water garden.

i hadn't known it was a special members-only day.

the best little pieces were sweet and darkly strange, like the wonka factory's candy garden.
